SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of wax, grease, dust, mildew, water soluble materials, and scaling paint. Glossy areas should be dulled. New plaster or masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure before skimming. Poured and precast must be allowed to cure for 60-90 days. Remove all loose mortar, scale, efflorescence and dust. Surfaces must be clean and reasonably dry.
Mildew: If mildew is present, it must be removed by scrubbing with commercial mildew wash. If mildew is widespread, the use of power-wash equipment is suggested. Caution: Use rubber gloves, work goggles, and protective clothing when applying mildew wash. Follow manufacturer's directions. Difficult Substrates: TM Pratt & Company offers a number of specialty primers for use over difficult substrates such as bleeding woods, grease, crayon markings, hard glossy surfaces, galvanized metal, or other substrates where paint adhesion or stain suppression is a particular problem. TM Pratt & Company can recommend the right problem-solving primer for your special needs.

FINISH OPTIONS
RXM Skim Coat can be tinted to enhance hiding capabilities and facilitate top coating with RXM
EGGSHELL FINISH.

APPLICATION
Stir product thoroughly before use. Apply using spray, roller or trowel. Typical Skim Coat application is to uniformly spray out the material, then trowel into the surface.
Spray: See RXM installation manual for instructions.
