Recommended Uses
Before Skim
Coat:
Glu*Coat seals damaged drywall facing paper and chalky wall conditions allowing for the application of a skim coat without the problems of bubbling or loose adhesion.  Glu*Coat will also emulsify a moderate amount of residual wallpaper paste eliminating the need for its removal.  A second application of Glu*Coat should be applied to skimmed areas to improve adhesion of paint, wallcovering, or texture finishes.

Before Wallcovering:
Glu*Coat seals and sizes the drywall substrate and provides a sealed substrate before the application of the wallcovering.  Subsequent removal of wallcovering is easier when the substrate is sealed with Glu*Coat.

Before Paint or the application of a texture finish:
Glu*Coat penetrates and binds damaged drywall facing paper and should be used prior to the application of latex paint or acrylic texture finishes.

Surface Preparation
Torn of Damaged Drywall:

Remove loose facing paper by cutting out or by sanding with 80-grit sandpaper.  Remove any loose skim coat material, loose paint, compound dust, and any excessive wallpaper paste.

Application
Glu*Coat should be thinned 50/50 with clean water.  It should be applied with a medium nap roller at the rate of 600 square feet per gallon.  It can also be applied with an airless at the using a .013 tip.  Application should be done at temperatures between 50
° F and 100° F.  Dry time is approximately 45 minutes and subsequent applications of paint can be done in 4 hours.  Application over less porous surfaces (glossy paints) should be allowed to dry overnight.  Glu*Coat can be cleaned up with soap and water.
