RXM Texture Coat

The RXM Texture coat is a durable and decorative interior acrylic latex coating. The texture coat can be applied to drywall, plaster, wood, cement block, masonite, tile and metal. Note: rough surfaces may need to be primed and skim coated to achieve a smooth surface before the application of the RXM texture coat. RXM Texture coat is formulated using modern acrylic chemistry and contains no clay, plaster, or cement compounds. It remains flexible when cured making it resistant to cracking.

RECOMMENDED USES
RXM Texture coat is a spray applied coating for interior walls or ceilings. This coating is designed to replace paint or wallpaper.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces to be coated must be clean dry and free of wax, grease, dust, mildew, water soluble materials, and scaling paint. Glossy areas should be dulled. New plaster or masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure (30-60days) before coating. All masonry surfaces must be thoroughly brushed with stiff fiber bristles to remove loose particles. TM Pratt offers a number of specialty primers for use over difficult substrates such as bleeding woods, hard glossy surfaces, galvanized metal, or other substrates where paint adhesion or stain suppression is a particular problem. PRIMER/FINISH SYSTEMS
Depending on substrate conditions and finish look desired, there are many options. See the company’s installation manual or marketing materials for more details.

APPLICATION
RXM Texture coat is installed by commercial painting contractors that have been trained in the application of the company’s products. The application of the RXM Texture coat must be done as described in the company’s printed installation manual.

COVERAGE
50-100 square feet per gallon. Depending on previous color, surface porosity, and texture coverage can vary greatly. Coverage is also varied by the desired texture look. See the installation manual for details or contact the company for more information.

Drying times may vary based on temperature, humidity, air movement, and application techniques.

THINNING /CLEANUP
Thinning is unnecessary and may affect color. If necessary to achieve application properties thinning may be done with a small amount of clean water. Never thin with other paints or solvents. Clean hands, tools, and equipment with warm soapy water. Spray equipment should be given a final rinse with mineral spirits to prevent rusting. USE COMPLETELY OR DISPOSE OF PROPERLY. Dry empty containers may be recycled in a can recycling program. Local disposal requirements vary; consult your sanitation department or state designated environmental agency for information on disposal options.

Formulated without lead, mercury, or chromates.

STORAGE
Twelve month shelf life if containers are sealed, stored upright, and stored in a dry place. Maintain temperatures between 45° F and 100° F. If skins form on the surface during storage, they must be removed before moving, mixing, or using.

MAINTENANCE
Avoid washing for 7 days. Once cured, dirt and stains can be removed with a mild (non-abrasive, non- chlorine) detergent mixed with water. RXM Texture coat can be repaired by property personnel (on-site training and repair kits are provided by TM Pratt).

PRODUCT AVAILAVILITY
Available in five gallon containers weighing 72.7 pounds. RXM Texture coat can be factory tinted to match virtually any paint color.

ENVIRONMENTAL/SAFETY
Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not breathe spray mist or sanding dust. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Wear eye protection and gloves during application and sanding. A dust/particulate respirator approved by NIOSH should be worn during application or sanding. Close containers after each use.
FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, seek immediate medical attention.
IN CASE OF SPILL: Absorb with inert material and dispose of as specified under THINING/CLEANUP above.
